Rule 18
Work, Duties and Rights of Local Market Monitoring Committee
: (1) The work, duties and rights of the Local Market Monitoring Committee established as per sub-section (1) of Section 28 of the Act shall be as follows:-
(a) Conducting regular monitoring of the local market to protect the rights and interests of consumers under the law. (B) To coordinate with the provincial market monitoring committee to make market monitoring activities effective (c) Effectively implement and conduct monitoring work in accordance with the instructions given by the Government of Nepal, Provincial Government, Council, Ministry or Department regarding the protection of the rights and interests of consumers. Ordering the concerned producer, distributor or seller to set a certain period to maintain the arrangement according to the regulation,
(e) If someone is found to have committed an offense under section 38 of the Act, to send a written report to the department or the relevant inspection officer for action,
(f) To increase awareness at the local level to protect the rights and interests of consumers.
(2) The market monitoring procedure of the local market monitoring committee shall be as determined by the relevant local level.
